Asian Water Sports Village, Relaxing?

Asian Water Sports Village, what is the name sounds to you?

This is an outing around 2 months before, a group of us (6 person) went to Asian Water Sports Village (AWSV) for a 2 days 1 night day, supposedly thought it should be quite a relaxing but end up with some disappointments. Becareful with their sale management system, it is not systematic, messy, unprofessional yet tactical. However, a friend of mine went to this place earlier when it just opened/launched and get high recommendations from her. Maybe we should not put too much expectation on it as things will change with time.

AWSV offered some packages, in order to get the package details, you can send inquiry via email (more accurately) or u may find some package details from the forum post by their brand ambassador (BA). We took the RM588 package, 2 days 1 night stay in a basic Lakefront Studio Suite for 2-5 pax/average RM117/pax which inclusive of:
- Unlimited usage of SPA garden (fish spa, outdoor Jaccuzi, infrared sauna)
- Unlimted usgae of BBQ pit with lava rock
- Unlimited usage of non-motorised water sports facilities (kayaking, canoeing, lake swimming, fishing, etc)
- Unlimited usage of Nintendo Wii
- Free 1 hour Jet Skiing with towable tubes&coaches (worth RM350)

The voucher also offered common kitchen with full facilities with the studio suite. Common kitchen with full facilities? The unit that we stayed have some rooms and we only stayed in two of the room whereas some were rent out to other residents. In the kitchen, saw some kitchen utensils with sticky notes. The residents there told us that do not use their stuff. However, after that they allowed us to use but have to clean it up properly after used.

Part of kitchen utensils...can you see the note?

Zoom in...

We actually had  make booking confirmation on 15-16 April for the RM588 package (FOC 2 pax) during promotion period. However due to some unfortunately accident circumstances, one of our friends cannot made it on that day. Hence, my friend called to ask whether the date can be changed/postponed or not, and the sales person named Jacky said it can. I don't know how the conversation details between him and my friend but the final answer from my friend is that the Jacky has agreed we can change to another date. After that, I followed up the arrangement and update myself with the Jacky. The Jacky described how good he is as he tried the best to help us for the postponement which supposedly cannot once the booking was made. I really appreciated of his help, but I don't know because of this postponement, he used this like "treateaning/shave privilege" that we supposed got.

The package that we took supposedly include the usage of SPA garden (fish spa, outdoor Jaccuzi, infrared sauna), which I think majority of the person interested to go for AWSV because of the SPA garden and also the water sport. However, their SPA garden was spoiled and therefore this facilities is no longer available for the visitor, but the Jacky never mentioned it to us. Even we go as in the initial booking date which is on 15-16 April, the facilities is actually no longer available. That time we made the postponement, again the Jacky really never mentioned about it. After that, we only found it out ourselves. I called to confirm it with the Jacky and asked "so how". Hopefully we can get some refund or get some other privilege for this changes. However, the Jacky said we cannot asked more as the management already allowed us for the postponement for the visiting date. If not because of the "kind" postponement, we cannot visit on the later date and our deposit was definitely burn.

My another group of friend who had also make booking and pay deposit earlier to visit AWSV on May, but after that they cancelled it. My friend told me that her contact sale person (different sale person) just informed them (less than 3 days before their visiting date) that the SPA garden is not longer available. My friend said she and her friends were very angry as they informed it last minutes. Their sale person said that they can replace it with the buffet dinner or they can cancel the booking with full refund if feel dissatisfaction with the changes. Finally, my friend decided  to cancel the booking as they feel it is no longer worth to go with the package deal.

I also feel that it is not worth to go anymore and definitely I will cancel the booking also if we know that it can be cancelled with full refund and not make any postponement since the SPA garden also not functioning even with our initial visiting date, sumore with the lousy management by Jacky  where our exciting mood was spoil. How come the Jacky totally did not mentioned it can be refund? I also tried to negotiate with the Jacky with the buffet dinner when I knew this "replacement" which Jacky never mentioned it to us also. The Jacky asked how come I knew of this and said arrangement of this "replacement" can't for us because of  the "kind postponement". I really feel pissed off when he always mentioned of this "kind postponement", still in many other small things.

The messy-ness is their package deal. At the same time, their management site also have made some update to their package or introduce some new packages. We took the RM588 package earlier but because of the postponement, the Jacky said package not available/fully booked on that date, and they introduced a new RM688 package. Untill now, I really don't know what is the actual package deal for RM688 package, I have asked Jacky send me information for the RM688 package but He didn't. He had briefly told me the package through phone. And I knew from AWSP brand ambassador (BA) that the new package is for 6 persons, got 2 bedroom, 2 hours water sport, unlimited bicycle, Wii, BBQ pit and other are same (what is other?). RM588 or RM688 package? The Jacky sometimes said the RM588 package no longer available, or have the depend on the availability (not fully booked) and will check for us or depend on number on person. As I knew earlier from the BA, the RM588 package (2-5 pax) can maximum up to 6 person with additional RM50 for the sixth person. However, the Jacky strictly said that the RM588 package is only for 5 person and no such add in extra person with additional charges. Again, he got mentioned about the "kind postponement" and if we have 6 person in a group, then we had to take the RM688 package. Seem it no choice for us and it is fine that we had to take the RM688 package.

Besides that, I was blurred with our postponed visiting date. I though we already confirm with Jacky with the postponed visiting date, however, after some time he asked the BA to ask me when is our visiting date. How come he cannot asked me by himself? And I called to confirm again with him the visiting date. In case he is blurred also, I still send him a confirmation sms stated clearly that our new visiting date, number of pax and package that we took. The funny things is, one day before our visiting date, I received the Jacky's email, content: "Can u give me a call regarding your booking...". When I saw the email, I called him immediately. He asked whether we got visit AWSV on the next day or not and said that I never confirm with him with the booking. Damn it, I was angry that time, I told him that I already confirm with him through the phone on that day and still send him a confirmation sms. He said I made him confused with the changes and said he may missed the sms. Another things that I pissed off is that why he cannot call me regarding the booking instead of just sending an email to ask me to call him back? What will going on if that day I cannot online or didn't check my email. Will him just ignored the booking status and we prohibited to enter AWSV on the next day?

Furthermore, Jacky still cannot confirm with me what package is available for us on the day before our visiting date. He asked me whether we are going to take the RM588 package and I said yes. I told him that we have 6 person in total and he said he will try his best to arrange for us for the addition person (RM588 package is for 2-5 pax) or we have to take the RM688 package (6 pax). He said he won't be around on the next day, so he gave me another contact number (Mr Moraz) and asked me to call him once we reached.

In addition, we though we can have bicycle cycling there, but when we reached there then only we know that bicycle cycling is not available also. Jacky asked how we know there got bicycle facilities in AWSV and I replied him that from the BA and forum. Jacky said that maybe the BA is not updated with the details and cannot rely 100% with the information that posted by BA in any forum regarding AWSV. He said that some BA may not updated and put wrong information, and they are just BA while himself is the sale and marketing person, so Jacky claimed that himself know much better of the package details and facilities available in AWSV, for example RM588 is only for 5 pax and additional person is not allowed with extra charges.

Frankly speaking, I'm looking forward to go to AWSV at the first place but after that, I feel reluctant to go, same with my friends.

However, there are some nice person in AWSV too... :) The BA of AWSV named Alvin is a helpful person. I get to know him from Cari Forum and then contact him in order to get the AWSV voucher with Priority Pass Chop (PPC) which have addition privileges. When you make booking with the sale person, you have to tell that you have the PPC so that they can arrange it for you, and I did it. However, I feel that there are no differences even with the PPC. Anyway, Alvin has done his great job as a BA, helpful and efficiency in reply enquiries, check for availability, posting the voucher and also promoting AWSV. Besides that, Mr Moraz is nice, friendly and polite, and he shared some of his working experience with us.

The addition privileges with Priority Pass Chop:
1) Addition 30 mins of motorised water sport
Our motorised water sport started at 5-7pm together with another groups of people (more than 10 people) who also visiting AWSV same date with us. The games were incharged by the trained coaches/ operators and all of us were take turn to play the motorised water sport within these 2 hours period. Wondering how they really count on how long we had played, and guessing they were no counting on the duration period (for example RM588 package is FOC 1 hours jet skiing and with PPC addition 30 minutes), and all of us just have to enjoy the motorised sports within this 2 hours.

Anyway, the jet skiing with towable tubes are really exciting and challenging. No more banana boat. There are 3 different towable tubes on that day with different difficulties levels. Even each of us (our group) only managed to play one round for each tube, but feel that it is enough.

The another group of people

Towable tube #1 (2 person)- this one is the easiest and very fun.

Towable tube #2 (3 person)- difficulties level increase. This one have to be well balanced and followed the stream of turning. We can't controlled it well and the tubes was turned over, and we were fall into the lake.

Towable tube #3 (3 person)- I feel that this is the most difficult. The two person in both sides have to grip the side holder tightly, if not will easily fall into the lake. Yeah, the tube didn't turn over but I feel my hand was very sour and feel exhausted after playing this.

No doubt, the motorised water sport is really fun and we really enjoyed it. Besides that, we managed to see a herd of buffalo there.

2) Addition indoor game
It is grateful that we can get to play the indoor game with the PPC and I looked forward it. The indoor game sounds for me and my friends is like the table tennis, snooker table or gym facilities which I seems read/knew before from somewhere (forum/publicity). However, when we reached there and asked about the indoor game, we were told that no such indoor game like table tennis table/only available for certain package, the indoor game refer to us is just the some chess and card games where we end up didn't played any of it. In addition, we were told that we were actually can play a lot indoor games with the Nintendo Wii including the table tennis that we requested for. Sweat, really sweat. Furthermore, the Nintendo Wii and the controllers are very hard to synchronise and always disconnected in the middle of the game.

3) addition BBQ pit
The BBQ pits provided on that day were enough for 6 person of us .Therefore, we did not asked for more.

4) Early check in and late Check out
The BA told me that the early check in 2pm and check out 1.30pm (normal check in 3pm and check out 12pm). We arrived in AWSV at around 2pm and called to Mr Moraz for check in upon arrival. However, we unable to check in at that time and have to wait until 3pm. Mr Moraz was only there at around 3pm. We told him that we supposedly can early check in and that why we came earlier. He said it is only can check in at 3pm. It is still okay for us as we still have to wait for another car of my friends to come. The worse is the check out time. We were preparing our brunch at around 11am++ and in the middle of preparing, the Jacky appeared in the kitchen and asked us whether we are ready for check out or not which is at 12pm. We are so shocked at that time as we thought the check out time is at 1.30pm. He said no such thing of late check out time and can give us extra some time for check out. At last, we were in hurry up of packing up our stuff and check out at around 12.30pm. Feel that we were so efficient in preparing and having our brunch, and packing up in a short period of time. Thanks friends...

Our brunch, self-prepared burger. It is nice and tasty actually. Great burger indeed.

After the motorised water sport, we enjoyed our BBQ and steamboat dinner at night. On the next day, we managed to go for a short kayaking at the lake before we went back.

Nice scenary at AWSV

BBQ-ing

Steamboat

Kayaking...

Wondering which package that we managed to take at last? We took the RM588 package for 6 person (with no extra charges) and 2 rooms for us. The room are well decorated and luxurious, like it very much.

Room #1 - Lake Front Studio Suite Room

Room #2 - Lake View Room

Thinking for the second visiting? So far not...It is enough for one time visiting to AWSV. Even though the places is supposedly to be relaxing, but mood was totally spoiled with the lousy sale and marketing management. Think twice before you decided to visit, and do not deal with the sale person named Jacky.
